The Tsaatan or Dukha reindeer herders live in the taiga in northwestern Mongolia. About 400 souls comprise this community, whose existence is intimately linked to their herds of reindeer. They live in teepees and travel regularly throughout the year to provide their reindeer with pastureland. Photos © Robert van Sluis
